Hydrophobic Non-woven (SMS) : used in the top sheet for the leg cuffs, it prevents water to pass through.

Hydrophilic Non-woven (SS): main top sheet, the top surface that is in contact with the baby's skin, allowing the liquids to flow into the diaper core.

Leg cuffs: it is the combination of hydrophilic & hydrophobic non-woven fabrics to produce the upper part of the diaper. However, this technology is fading, because diaper producers have this feature built in their new machines.

Other special nonwovens: such as UV stabilized, fire retardant, colored, thin denier and permanent hydrophilic nonwovens fabrics.
